
Competition among quick service restaurants was heating up in the breakfast segment. Arby’s Restaurants in Lexington, KY, wanted to establish themselves as the ideal "breakfast destination" for consumers. S+A developed a TV campaign consisting of four 15-second spots, each focused on a different breakfast menu item. The campaign did indeed get people "thinking Arby's" for breakfast. The Lexington Co-Op saw weekly sales increases of more than 9.5% over the previous year. Results were so positive that numerous other co-ops purchased the rights to air the spots in their markets.

Big O Tires is an independent tire retailer with nearly 400 stores nationwide. The 25 stores in Louisville, KY, were looking for new ways to promote Big O Tires’ company image. S+A developed three TV commercials which promoted Big O Tires as a company that had been in the market for 40 years, and helped customers’ tires last longer with continued maintenance and one of the best free replacement warranties in the business. The response to the TV commercials was overwhelming. The commercials proved very successful in the Louisville market. Big O Tires local market share increased, as did their name recognition with potential customers.

The Kroger Company implemented a global pricing strategy that dramatically lowered the price of key products. Kroger sought S+A’s assistance in creating a brand message that would communicate this new pricing strategy to its customers. S+A created a brand positioning that was embodied in the tagline: Right Store. Right Price. S+A developed hundreds of pieces of creative that were executed across 12 of the company’s 18 supermarket divisions. The Right Store. Right Price. program proved to be extremely successful. As a direct result of its success, a significant number of Kroger divisions have been able to grow market share within a very competitive industry.
